Scratch cards: revealing a result and reading the prize rules

A scratch game reveals symbols, numbers or amounts under a covering. The reveal can be physical or animated; the game's rules determine when the result is chosen and how a prize qualifies.

Sources reviewed

Reveal uncovers a result; the prize is then interpreted against the game rules.
Animation and interaction do not by themselves establish how an outcome is selected.

What the reveal does

A scratch-card interface invites the visitor to uncover a result. Some games require matching symbols; others use numbers, prize amounts or several small play areas. The instructions define what counts, so a visually similar card can still use a different winning condition.

For a documented digital example, Ireland's National Lottery Participant Code of Practice defines an interactive instant win as a game whose system determines the result and prize at purchase. In that model, the later reveal displays the result. This definition belongs to that lottery framework; another product needs its own outcome procedure.

Odds of a prize and size of a prize

An overall chance of winning any award and the chance of the highest award answer different questions. A headline maximum should be read alongside the prize table. An award equal to the purchase cost also differs from a net gain.

For example, if an illustrative play costs five credits and returns five credits in total, the balance is unchanged by that play. A ten-credit total return would produce five credits of net gain. This is arithmetic, not the payout schedule of a named card.

A theme is not a ruleset

Pragmatic Play's product-tools page explicitly includes scratch-card games among its supported products. That identifies a product family, but supplies no basis for assigning every card the same odds, return or availability.

Keep a card's exact title, provider and rules together. A seasonal edition or a reused visual theme may need a separate review. If the instructions contain multiple play areas, establish whether their awards can be combined and whether a single cap applies to the whole play.

Reading an instant-game listing

Slotron's descriptions explain the game and link to the source. They do not certify the outcome-generation system or establish that a particular operator offers the card in your country. Availability is recorded separately for the original game.

A browser interruption also needs the operator's documented recovery procedure; finishing an animation locally is not proof that an account award was credited. Keep the round reference if you are checking a discrepancy and use the operator's support process. Our Responsible play page provides general break and support resources.
