Spain: licensed online gambling and self-exclusion
Find the Spanish operator register, check the relevant domain and understand the scope of the RGIAJ self-exclusion system.

Check the Spanish permission
Spain’s Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego, or DGOJ, provides an official route to licensed operators and licensing decisions. For an online casino claiming to serve the Spanish market, begin there and compare the company, website and permitted activity.
A licence claim from another country does not establish a Spanish permission. A Spanish-language interface is equally inconclusive: it may be offered to readers in several countries. The exact domain matters when one brand runs separate national and international websites.
Use the register with a specific question
The DGOJ’s licensed-operator section links to an operator search and to licensing and homologation decisions. An editor should be able to explain which entry supports the claim, rather than citing the regulator’s homepage as if it approved every brand.
| Check | Evidence to look for |
|---|---|
| Operator identity | The legal entity in the official record |
| Website | The domain covered by the record |
| Activity | The games or services within the permission |
| Review timing | Current status, plus the date of the check |
Casino acceptance and licensing remain separate catalog facts. An operator may prohibit Spain in its terms even when another brand in the same corporate group has a Spanish business.
RGIAJ: the scope of exclusion
The Registro General de Interdicciones de Acceso al Juego is a state register that prevents registered people from accessing licensed online gambling in Spain. DGOJ also describes effects on land-based gambling where regional rules require the register to be checked, and on certain reserved games under their applicable rules.
The official FAQ says voluntary registration is free and indefinite. Read the official procedure for the conditions of registration or cancellation; the coverage should not be extended to every foreign website simply because it accepts Spanish customers.
Reading Slotron’s Spain page
The casino list uses sourced operator policies. Restricted records an express exclusion; Accepted records an express support statement, without conferring a Spanish licence. Unclear or conflicting documents remain an evidence gap.
We do not infer availability from a euro balance, a promotional page or an unblocked connection. Payment support and original-game listings require their own checks. The source links below provide the regulatory starting points for this country overview, while each casino profile retains the sources for its own claims.
