Keno: number selections, matches and the paytable
Keno compares a set of selected numbers with a draw. The number of picks and the matching paytable are essential parts of the game, not details that can be inferred from its name.

A number-matching game
Keno begins with a selection of numbers and ends by comparing that selection with a draw. The paytable assigns returns to qualifying match counts. It should be read for the actual number of picks being used.
Pragmatic Play's Keno description gives a specific example: its described version allows between one and fifteen selections from eighty numbers, with twenty numbers drawn. These figures identify that product. They should not be copied into every other keno description.
The Western Canada Lottery Corporation's KENO page provides another official example of a number-selection product. Its published ticket and draw rules belong to that lottery offering, not to all online casino versions.
Reading the correct row
A paytable may have separate rows or columns for different pick counts. The same number of matches can mean different things depending on how many numbers were selected. Look at the complete combination of picks, matches and stake.
| Detail | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Number pool | Establishes which numbers can appear. |
| Pick count | Selects the relevant part of the paytable. |
| Draw size | Defines how many numbers are drawn. |
| Prize basis | Shows whether a return is fixed or multiplied by stake. |
An advertised top award is incomplete without its qualifying event. A large multiplier does not establish how often that event occurs or what the average return is.
Fast rounds and repeated entries
The total cost of repeated entries can be easy to miss when the selection stays on screen. If an illustrative entry costs two credits and is repeated for ten draws, twenty credits are committed before counting awards. Check whether a control submits one draw or several.
A previous result display records earlier matches. It does not demonstrate that a particular number is due. A claim about a game's randomness or return needs the selected version's rules and supporting evidence, not a pattern in a small history panel.
Where the category ends
Slotron's keno category groups related titles without treating them as identical. A provider example is not a casino availability record. Country scope and operator support belong to the individual listing and its dated source.
If the game exposes several modes, keep the selected mode with the paytable. Do not quote one return figure for a product when the source only describes a particular configuration. Our approach explains the distinction between a documented claim and information still missing.
