Bangladesh: online gambling rules and payment enforcement
Bangladesh’s 2026 position on online gambling, including participation and promotion, and the limits of an offshore casino’s acceptance claim.

Online gambling is prohibited
Bangladesh treats online gambling as a criminal offence. In a parliamentary answer on 24 June 2026, the Finance Minister identified section 20 of the Cyber Security Act 2026 as the applicable provision. The state news agency BSS reports that the Act was issued on 10 April 2026.
The minister’s explanation covers running gambling portals or apps, participating in online gambling, assisting it and promoting it through advertising or marketing. The rule therefore cannot be reduced to a restriction on website owners alone.
Payments are part of enforcement
The same parliamentary report describes monitoring and transaction restrictions involving mobile financial service accounts. It also refers to a Bangladesh Bank directive requiring providers to monitor merchants and customers for gambling-related activity and report detected involvement to the relevant authorities.
These statements concern enforcement activity. They do not identify the status of any particular Slotron casino, account or transaction, and we do not use them as proof that a named operator has been investigated.
| What a website displays | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Bangladesh in a signup list | A website setting; not legal permission |
| A foreign gaming licence | A claim about another jurisdiction |
| A payment option | A payment feature, subject to its own conditions |
| No explicit Bangladesh restriction | An unresolved operator policy |
Why older summaries can mislead
A guide referring only to the Cyber Security Ordinance 2025 misses the later legislation identified by the minister. The sources below state their publication dates so that readers can distinguish the current review from an older legal summary. This description reports the government’s explanation and does not assess an individual person’s liability.
Country policies in this directory
We retain explicit casino restrictions as operator statements and link to their source. We do not turn silence in a restricted-country list into an Accepted label. Even an express offshore acceptance claim would not override Bangladesh’s prohibition.
If a casino page lists payment methods or games, those are separately sourced catalog facts. They should not be read as instructions to deposit, evade a country restriction or use an alternative address. Slotron does not test access by gambling from Bangladesh.
