Roulette: wheel layouts and the bet being settled

Roulette pays according to where the ball finishes and which position a wager covers. Single-zero, double-zero and multiplier variants need their own rules and payout checks.

Sources reviewed

Single zero is compared with zero plus double zero.
The extra zero is a real outcome, not another name for the same pocket.

The wheel and the table

A roulette round produces a winning pocket. The betting layout lets a wager cover one number or a defined group of outcomes. The amount returned depends on the bet and the game's paytable; a chip's position is part of the instruction.

Evolution's roulette guide distinguishes European, French and American versions. Its French example has numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. The American version also includes 00. For the French example, La Partage returns half an even-money stake when zero lands.

Those distinctions should be checked in the selected game. Do not assume a rule applies just because the table uses French names or the interface resembles another version.

A payout needs a stake basis

"35 to 1" profit and "36 times the stake" total can describe the same settlement when the stake is returned separately. A rules page should make that convention clear. For an illustrative €1 stake, €35 profit plus the original €1 means €36 returned. That arithmetic does not establish that every roulette variant pays this amount.

Live, automated and animated formats

A filmed physical wheel can use a dealer or an automated mechanism. An animated RNG title presents a virtual result. Evolution offers both live roulette and separate First Person versions; a realistic animation alone cannot tell you which format you are viewing.

Multiplier titles add another layer. Read the base payout alongside the multiplier conditions and any fee, and check when the advertised multiplier can apply. Preserve the exact version name when comparing rules.

What the catalog can confirm

Slotron's category identifies a family of games. Individual pages identify the original title, provider and source. Casino availability requires its own evidence, and a general roulette description does not establish a particular table in a particular country.

Use the history display as a record of earlier rounds. It is not evidence that a named number must appear next. If the rules or version are missing, leave the comparison unresolved until there is a source. Our approach explains this treatment of incomplete information.
